You are welcome on the WEB-pages of the Levy -families.
These pages will connect peoples all over Finland and world, originating from Suojärvi, Karelia.

The Finnish Levy-families are refugees from Suojärvi in Karelia. This piece of land was lost to Sovjet Union at the end of World War II. These families escaped to Finland and the total number of individuals in Levy-families are now more than a thousand.

Karelia has been a battlefield during WWII. Also Suojärvi was strongly involved. Have a closer look at

Trip to Suojärvi 2009
We had a very interesting trip with to Suojärvi the 3rd - 6th July 2009. First we headed to Petroskoi and visited Kivatsu and Kontupohja on Saturday morning. Have a look of pictures in galleries 11 and 12.
After sitting in the bus couple of hours, we arrived in Suojärvi in the afternoon. Our accommodation was arranged at local family houses in the center of Suojärvi. Thanks a lot to our hosts. In the evening program we had "Pitäjäjuhla" and Suojärvi -celebration day.
On Sunday morning we visited Jehkilä. The memorial stone was still seating on its place. Some brave persons of us visited the old grave yard on the opposite side of Suojärvi. They had to cross the lake with a row boat. There are some rare pictures from the grave yard taken by Marjukka Levy in the gallery 13.

On Monday mornig we headed Sortavala, and after the lunch, back to Kuopio.
